Today we go back to 2014 for a couple of messages by Pastor Beckwith and a song performed by Chris Smith. The topical message regarding Christ’s return should be encouraging during these times we are living, and the message from his 1 Samuel series touches on critical factors in a Christian’s life; self-examination and exhortation of others.

Happy Mother’s Day! The Rewind this week takes us back again to 2009 for Pastor Beckwith’s simply titled message, Honor Thy Mother. Whether you have currently have the blessing of being able to still honor your mother, or you will be honoring the memory of your mother this day, this is the message for you to hear. Special music was beautifully sung by a young Kara Monroe to prepare your heart for the message.

In August of 2011 we had Jon Crocker and family, missionaries to Mexico City, visiting. Jon gave a stirring message called: What Shall We Then Say To These Things?
If you need strength in the face of all the obstacles that are in front of you; spiritual obstacles. If you need strength, God will give it to you.

Today we rewind to 2011 when pastor was deep in the middle of a series on the Gospel of Luke, with a message called: The Ten Lepers are Healed. As you know, leprosy was the original social distancing disease and these 10 sought the Lord’s mercy to heal them from their condition.
Jesus is greeted here at the entrance of the city by this welcoming committee of ten. But this welcoming committee meets him outside the city. And why was that? Well, because they weren’t invited or permitted in the city because they were lepers.
God’s mercy is His goodness, His compassion, which he shows toward those who are in misery and distress, whether they deserve it or not.
— Pastor Terry Beckwith

Happy Resurrection Sunday! As you might expect, this week will be a past recording of a Resurrection Sunday service. Back in 2013 Pastor Beckwith delivered The Preaching of the Resurrection. Here is an excerpt:
“Three ways you and I are saved…by the Word of God, by the Spirit of God, and by circumstances in your life. Very few of us if we catch the age of teens and older, are saved simply by the Spirit and the Word. It takes some suffering in our life to get us to look heavenly-ward”
— Pastor Terry Beckwith
The chosen special music to prepare you for today’s message was sung by Frank Behr, current deacon at GBC.

This week will take us back to 2009 during the current series on Philippians. The message is titled, Instead of Grumbling, Glory in Your Present Circumstances Because of the Good it Brings to You.
“Let me remind you, that the kind of situations whereby you and I can magnify Christ, are usually most unpleasant rather than pleasant ones. In fact, the more unpleasant they are, the more opportunities you and I get to magnify our Lord. So don’t be discouraged, be encouraged!…with the thought that God has given me just a greater opportunity to magnify my Lord and Savior.” — Pastor Terry Beckwith
Special music from Chris Smith, former music director and deacon at GBC, encourages us to Rejoice In The Lord.
Sunday, March 29th, 2020
